Mechanical Engineering Intern | Sea-Doo

OVERVIEW

Valcourt, QC | On-site | CO-OP Intership (May 2025 - August 2025)

BRP is a world leader in recreational marine products, with Sea-Doo being one of its flagship product lines. Working within BRP’s R&D team gave me the opportunity to contribute to the development and testing of these products while gaining valuable experience in a world-leading engineering environment. My work focused on mechanical design, testing, and validation, as well as analyzing results to improve product performance and reliability.

Testing and Validation

Testing & Validation: Working alongside a team of engineers and technicians, my role focused on testing and validating mechanical components and systems for BRP's marine products, while ensuring designs and test procedures aligned with applicable ABYC standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Creating test plans and setups to validate compliance with ABYC standards
  • Conducting repeated tests to validate results consistency and ensure data reliability
  • Organizing test samples through invidivual labelling to analyze failure points and identify design limitations

Key Results: Validated compliance of 5+ design iteration of pontoon and personal watercraft parts.

Design

Design & Development: Designed and developed material testing equipment to support the evaluation and validation of BRP's marine products, with a focus on practical design, functionality, and repeatable testing.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Creating test plans and setups to validate compliance with ABYC standards
  • Recording, sampling, and analyzing test data to verify compliance
  • Organizing test samples, tracking test orders, and analyzing failure points to identify design limitations

Key Results: Validated compliance of 5+ design iteration of pontoon and personal watercraft parts.
